As with most characters, you have the initial inspiration for Koga that would be Motoko Aoyama of Love Hina :3

Around the release of Soul Calibur 3 I got the idea to make Koga a descendant of Kuma Yoshito

Castlevania gave me the idea a few weeks ago for Koga's special sword, THE VALMANWAY!!!

The Bottom middle picture for those you can tell is Sailor Jupiter from the Negamoon episode "Child's Play" showcasing one of her more epic moments, she channeled her thunder clash zap into the ground making a fissure so Doom and Gloom wouldn't escape Sailor moon's scepter, anyways it gave me the idea for Koga's signature move "Ki Fissure"

While RPing I figured since most of Motoko's moves were wind based, why not make a wind dragon Koga's Idol of worship, hence where the Strom Dragon of FF6 comes in.

Yzak gave me the idea for Koga's hair :3
